BRET HARTE, Stanislaus County — Modesto City Schools reminded families in August 2026 that the Stopfinder system provides student-specific school bus information, including assigned routes, stop locations and pickup and drop-off times.
The service replaced the district’s older MyView bus app and uses invitations tied to parent contact details in the PowerSchool system. It is intended for families of eligible school bus riders, including students served through general education and certain special education transportation. The school’s current news listing links to Stopfinder guidance.
A mobile tracking application does not mean every child automatically qualifies for district transportation. Routes can differ by school and student eligibility, and location-based alerts are most useful after parents confirm the assigned stop through official channels. Families should not share a child’s private transportation details in public social posts.
What residents should know
Parents who do not receive an invitation or see an incorrect route should update their contact information and speak with the district transportation office. The district has listed 209-574-1621 for transportation assistance.
